Tortoise

Wild caught turtles are in the past massively imported to be sold as pets. Many animals by the lack of knowledge about the lifestyle and proper housing died prematurely .

Nevertheless, the import of wild caught animals today is not the biggest threat to tortoise populations. Climate change, pollution and disappearing habitats have a major negative impact. Many species of turtles addition in Asia slaughtered in huge numbers for food markets ( edible !).

Due to the relatively low reproductive rates and the systematic capture of animals for consumption many populations , walking not only in Asia but worldwide danger.
